My name is Nandi Makala.

I'm a textile artist and interior designer, based in Los Angeles, California.

I'm originally from France where I studied Ceramics in Limoges, Fine Art in Angers, and Interior Decorating at the LISAA Fashion Institute in Paris.  I also worked at Marie Claire Home in Paris as assistant to the Editor-in-Chief, and at the Hermès design house, making handbags and porcelain plates.

My abstract work represents our connection with the above and our divine nature. I am inspired by the stars, the cosmos, and the female body. My paintings and textile art are felt by the material, color and light- so I use a lot of gold thread, gold leaf and gold paint. My work evokes the Origins, the Memories and the Resilience.
